Space Harbors

For iPhone & iPad

Start your voyage

Space Harbors is a space game built on real astronomy: every star, planet and mission in it exists. Explore 343 star systems, then unlock 4,723 more from NASA's catalog of planet-hosting stars. Land on Mars, put a satellite into orbit, and learn the science behind every world as you play.

Free roam

Fly the open universe.

Cruise past Saturn's rings, then warp to Betelgeuse, the red supergiant in Orion's shoulder, and look for Siwarha, the small companion star astronomers reported in 2025 as a probable detection.

Or sit back on one of seventeen guided tours while Lumen, your ship's assistant, tells you what you're looking at: Saturn's rings and nine of its moons, one world at a time; the seven Earth-sized planets of TRAPPIST-1; the dead stars and black holes. Three tours are free; the rest open as you explore, or all at once with the Tours Pack. Every star, planet, moon and spacecraft has a card with what we actually know about it.

Story modes

Three stories, set among the stars.

Before the Sun. Retrace how people worked out where everything came from, at the objects where they found it, from an Apollo Moon core to the black hole at the center of the galaxy.

The Star Cartographers. Trace the constellations as cultures around the world drew them, pick a place on Earth and simulate its sky on any date to watch it keep time, then fly into the figures and watch them come apart.

The Last Harbor. A fictional storyline set among the real stars: the ark has left Earth, and with Lumen, your ship's assistant, you scout real systems for a new harbor to call home while the Hollow close in to claim the harbors for their own kind.

The Last Harbor: Hollow ships firing over Proxima b, seen from behind your ship
Missions & history

Follow real spacecraft, from launch day to today. Make the calls mission control made.

Log a spacecraft, then open its console from your ship: a simulated terminal with its status, a mission timeline and the keepsakes aboard, with facts drawn from trusted sources such as NASA, ESA and published research. Voyager 1's timeline runs from its 1977 launch to the failed memory chip that engineers fixed in 2024 by applying a software patch from 24 billion kilometers away.

In the missions you land a rover on Mars or put a satellite in orbit, one decision at a time. Choose wrong and you'll see what really happened on the missions that came before, with the sources to read more.

Mini games

Drive, dive, launch and land.

Ride a rocket through Max-Q while the command center sweats it out live. Time an orbit-insertion burn so Saturn's gravity can catch you. Drive a rover over Martian hills collecting elements, and dive through Saturn's rings.

Clear goal bars and a coach show you what success looks like, so you learn the idea while you play.
